You will head across small timber footbridges over clear mountain tributaries, following an earthen path bordered by wild azaleas, native ferns, and sourwood trees. The park sanctuary protects pristine Cumberland Plateau headwaters and rare gorge plant communities. Keep an eye out in the river currents and leafy canopy for belted kingfishers, Carolina chickadees, and gray squirrels.
