Our History

Then and Now

Corbin has come a long way since its incorporation in 1895. What started as a humble settlement on the banks of Lynn Camp Creek grew into railroad city with the expansion of the L&N Railroad. Most notably, Corbin is the home of Colonel Harland Sanders’ first restaurant that served his famous Kentucky Fried Chicken®.

Kentucky Fried Chicken

The Home of Colonel Sanders

It’s no secret that we’re the birthplace of that secret blend of 11 herbs and spices Colonel Harland Sanders used to perfect his recipe for Kentucky Fried Chicken®. You can enjoy that iconic flavor today where it was first made at the beautifully restored Sanders Café & Museum right here in Corbin.
